I love that the Crossroads is full of evidence that people saw potential in the built environment and took the initiative to beautify it.
The murals, the galleries, the breweries and restaurants. So much of the crossroads is reclaimed spaces that were purpose built, and now have new purpose. It’s gritty and dirty in places, and it’s shiny and new in others.
I always find something different to photograph there.

Whenever I’m in Kansas City, I think back to all the jazz-blues greats who played the blues here — like Count Basie, Charlie Parker and Jay McShann.
I watched those guys jam in different places and heard a lot of things – but I couldn’t do what they did. They were too good.

I credit Kansas City with my work ethic and learning from the amazing artists that are in that town.
I’ll never stop acting, but music is a passion of mine. I just love creating projects in the entertainment field and performing onstage or in front of a camera.
I feel so fortunate to have grown up in a town like Kansas City that has such a vibrant theater community.
